To Paint or Not to Paint

So here I am again at this dilemma. To paint or not to paint. This is my dining room, I have a few more accents then you see her now, I collect pumpkins, yes pumpkins, I have a thing for the color orange. I once painted this room orange a burnt pumpkin orange but that was over kill for my favorite color. So I'd like to paint this room not the whole room just the bottom of the wall to the bottom of the chair rail.

As you can see the wall color is an off white the official name was Oat. I'd really like to paint the bottom half a beautiful hue of Vintage Blue sorta the color I love to use in my photography for the sky. I just can't decide if my little pumpkin accents will look okay against the blue. I have an old Country Living Magazine where someone had orange and blue together, it look great.

The reason this room has stayed colorless was do to the fact we painted the whole house in Oat, because we thought we were going to put the house on the market and move. Well the economy crashed and so did housing prices so here we sit 3 years later and I really think at this point we are going to stay. So I want color beautiful color. What do you think Blue and orange, not football colors either, It won't look that rash, just a few hints of orange in the accents....?????????????
